Mezcal Machetazo Salmiana (San Luis Potosi)
Mezcal Machetazo follows a traditional mezcal production process that has been passed down through generations. The brand Machetazo offers different varieties from three different states in Mexico: Guerrero, San Luis Potosi and Oaxaca.
The name of our mezcal symbolizes a part of the complex and labor intensive process behind the mezcal production. With a swing of the machete, or machetazo, our mezcal masters mark the beginning of the adventure behind the making of this mystical spirit.
Salmiana agaves grow in the state of San Luis Potosi and take 7 years to reach maturity. The desert climate of Charcas, San Luis Potosi gives way to an aroma of fresh vegetation and wooden flavours. The production process of our Mezcal Machetazo Salmiana 38% differs from the common cooking agaves in an earthen oven. The pinas are cooked through vaporization and the sloped construction of the distillery’s floor ensures consistent production from beginning to end as the liquid from the cooked agaves trickles down by way of gravity.
